Crafting Goodness - Inside and Out
Since LIFEbar was founded in 2010, we’ve focused on creating a better world for our customers and our community. We take responsibility for our impact on our environment and aim to reduce the negative factors and maximize the positive.
Where we aim to help
We learn as much as we can about our ingredients - how they are grown, the challenges for our suppliers, and how we can help them.
We aim to make sure everything we do reduces the impacts of making our products, while ensuring they still taste great and remain healthy for you.
When using materials, we try to use as little as possible. Where it is required, we use recycled and renewable materials that are easy to recycle.
Giving Back to our Community
The problem of food deserts.
One of the largest barriers to healthy eating is having access to nutritious food. Across the US, there are communities poorly served by food stores. In these places, healthy food is usually more expensive and much more difficult to find.
The severe health consequences of living in a "food desert" are obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Without ready access to nutritious foods, people living in these areas often suffer from diets that are high in calories but low in nutritional value. At LIFEbar, we believe food has the power to heal and help improve this crisis.
Giving back to those at risk.
We've seen food deserts occur on our doorstep in West Louisville, and we want to do our part. While there isn't a one size fits all solution to the crisis, LIFEbar is committed to donating a portion of our sales to this cause. Recently, this has been the West End School - a tuition-free school for “at risk” boys at a pre-kindergarten level through to 8th grade. Here, our investment will help support school breakfast and lunch clubs - ensuring that we can help provide delicious and nutritious meals to those most at risk. This cause is something we genuinely care about, and you can bet we'll do everything in our power to help strengthen our local community and create better lives for those who live there.
